A Day in London

Russell and I drove up to Newcastle for the Mission Christmas dinner on Thursday, Dec 14th. The mission hosted four Christmas dinners in order to accommodate all 260 young missionaries and 22 senior couples. Since we have only been in England for a week, we enjoyed getting acquainted with many of the missionaries, young and older.

On Friday we decided to go to London. We made arrangements to park our car in the city for the day. My husband is a great driver!  No problems.

We were close to Harrods, so of course we went there and  looked around a bit.

My missionary tag evidently looked like I was an official Harrods employee, as I was stopped several times in ten minutes by people asking for directions. A boy even asked for my advice about a product in the new Apple store which is now in Harrods. Really!

Harrods has thousands of great choices for lunch. We had soup and a delicious ham sandwich with British mustard/horseradish. It had just the right kick!

Then we walked up Oxford Street to Selfridges,

taking in all the festive decorations.

( He is a little bored - time to move on)

Shopping ends with dinner in Selfridges Food Hall.

Nightfall comes early here in London...

Walked through "Winter Wonderland" in Hyde Park on the way to our car
