Everyday we marvel at the missionary work that is going on here in England. The caliber of young men and women who desire to serve as missionaries is outstanding. We enjoy meeting with our district every Wednesday. The District leader is organized and dedicated, and the Zone Leaders are excellent examples to those they lead. All are learning the secret of finding happiness in life at a very young age. It reminds me of the book by Lloyd Douglas, "The Magnificent Obsession" where a self absorbed young man learns that real joy comes by giving of oneself in service to others without expectation of recognition or rewards. It becomes an obsession when our hearts change and we can see every person as the child of God that he is.
18 year old young men and 19 year old young women are learning this at an early age, at their own expense of time and resources. It is marvelous to feel the energy and love in the room when we are all together.
