Missionaries at Windsor Castle

On Friday August 29th, the Senior Missionaries met for a lovely lunch at the Duchess of Cambridge Pub. The pub was named for the most recent addition to the Royal Family, Kate Middleton, wife of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.

We had a wonderful time visiting together and sharing ideas, as we always do.  Did we mention that senior missionaries have fun!!!

Afterwards we all took a tour of Windsor Castle.  It has been nearly 30 years since our first and only other visit to Windsor with Ron and Rita Evans.

The tour was informative and I especially enjoyed seeing the Doll House again.  Photography was forbidden inside but here are a couple of official photos from the amazing, detailed miniture doll house.

Queen Mary's Dollhouse was created by a leading British Architect in 1921.  It took 3 years to complete.

We visited "Eaton College" where Prince William and Prince Harry were educated, and is just across the Thames river from Windsor Castle.   We also toured Christ Church College at Oxford University.

Elder and Sister Tanner took us on a tour of the nearby Cotswolds.  We loved the weavers cottages in Bibury.   This is the picture that was on my computer screen saver for a very long time.   Little did I think I would ever be able to see it.

  1. Did you have to get permission to go to the Cotswolds? I thought it was out of your mission. I can't believe you didn't go back to Windsor Castle for 30 years!! :)
