Missionaries and Visitors

We enjoy District Meetings held at our house on Wednesdays. These young men are dedicated missionaries and we love each one.  Elder Gugyelka, our zone leader will be transfered soon and so will Elder Yu.  We're sorry to see them go, yet we know the new Elders will also win our hearts.
Southampton District Elders, Yu, Gugelkya, Day, Ramon, Astorga and Van Dongan

Jim and Kristene and James and Diana came to visit us for a few days on their way home from a trip to Belgium, where James served a mission. We took them to vist our favorite places,Winchester, Lacock and Bath.

Montisfont Manor house and gardens is a short drive from our house and a favorite place to visit.
This month they had an exhibition of young artist's paintings. "Butterfly" by Paul Ryan caught my eye...whimsical!
Elder Nielson prefered to relax and enjoy the view from Montisfont's Library

The Green's from Hamble River Ward showed me this photo of the missionary from Gilbert Arizona who baptized them in the late 1960's.  When they heard we were from Arizona, they asked if we knew Dennis Barney, and indeed we did! These people had an invite to lunch at Highclere Castle, long before it became famous as "Downton Abbey".

  1. How funny! We know the Barneys of course, but also the other couples in the photo! The Copples (on the right) are in our ward and the LeSueurs (center) at the Gilbert Temple President and Matron. :) Great people!
